To Do List - Buying a Flooded Home?

Inspection - Inspectors can help identify areas of concern, including leaking windows, structural and plumbing issues.

Contractor - Get estimates on the cost of the repairs, mold, remediation, dry rot, and home improvements to prevent future flooding.

Insurance - Work with your insurance agent for homeowners and flood insurance quotes.

Finance - If you will require financing, partner with a lender to determine lending requirements.

Evaluate - Get all the facts and sit down with your real estate agent. It may be possible to work some of the repair cost into the offer, based on sale price.

Your Realtor will support and guide you during the process. Make sure you understand all aspects of the contract and understand the estimated out of the pocket expenses.
